New guide for exploring more of Macleay

Kempsey Shire Council

Just in time for the school holidays, a new Macleay Valley Coast Destination Guide has hit shelves to help visitors make the most of their stay. The guide aims to highlight some of the region’s most loved attractions as well as some of its lesser-known gems.

Kempsey Shire Council aims to create a vibrant lifestyle destination where business, industry and investment can prosper and support the sustainable development of the Macleay Valley Coast as a Premier Regional Visitor Destination.

In line with this approach, the new destination guide for our ‘authentic coastal meets country region’ is filled with local knowledge and includes travel inspiration in the form of imagery and itineraries as well as maps and QR codes that encourage visitors to spread their time and spend, out across the Macleay.

Kempsey Shire Council’s Tourism Development Officer Mrs. Ashley Gray emphasised the tactics used in the guide and their tie to Council’s sustainable approach to tourism, “We have included information on our lovely coastal villages but hope to relieve the pressure on them and spread the love by inviting people to experience more of what this stunning region has to offer”.

The new guide is available for download on the Macleay Valley Coast website and print copies are available at the Slim Dusty Centre and the Visitor Information Centre in South West Rocks.

Grab a copy of the guide for yourself – and maybe an extra copy for visiting friends or family!
