A new home for healthcare workers will help strengthen local healthcare services in Omeo.
Minister Settle today announced the completion of the five-bedroom house at Omeo District Health, supported through the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
The new affordable accommodation will help attract and retain doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
This has enabled Omeo District Health to re-establish its Graduate Registered Nurse Program, which is designed to provide participants with broad exposure to rural and remote healthcare settings.
Built in the region by Anchor Homes and assembled on-site, the house can accommodate up to five workers at any one time. It has a flexible design to suit a range of living arrangements, including individuals and couples.
