New information reignites 2007 Moe sexual assault investigation

Detectives are again appealing for public assistance after new information has reignited the investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in Moe in 2007.

The sexual assault occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, 9 September 2007, after the victim was approached by a stranger in a Lloyd Street carpark.

The man, aged in his 20s at the time, offered to walk her home before sexually assaulting her in the vicinity of Moore Street.

At the time of the offence, the man was described as approximately 165-175cm tall, with a tanned complexion and dark hair that had possibly been dyed with a shaved undercut.

Investigators have been told the man said he lived in Trafalgar and drove an EA Ford.

A computer-generated image from 2007 depicting a man police believe can assist with the investigation has been re-released.

It is believed the man will now be in his late 30s to early 40s.
