New Landsdale Gardens Primary School officially named

  • New primary school officially named Landsdale Gardens Primary School
  • $24.7 million school in Landsdale to open its doors in 2023
  • Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today revealed Landsdale Gardens Primary School as the official name for the new school opening in Landsdale next year.

The local community was consulted on three potential names, with Landsdale Gardens Primary School being the most popular option.

The name is based on a historical connection to the area, relating to the market gardens that were developed into residential lots in the 1990s.

The new school is under construction, and will open at the start of the 2023 school year.

When complete, the school will cater for 540 students from kindergarten to Year 6, and help relieve growing enrolment pressure at nearby primary schools.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“Landsdale is a popular choice for young families, so I’m pleased to provide an update on the area’s newest primary school and announce the official name, Landsdale Gardens Primary School.

“It’s great to see the overwhelming community support for a school name that reflects the history of the suburb’s market gardens.

“I know families in the Landsdale area are looking forward to the new state-of-the-art facilities at the school, which will be open for their children to benefit from as of next year.”

As stated by Landsdale MLA Margaret Quirk:

“The delivery of this brand new primary school is incredibly important to the Landsdale community, and it’s great to see a nod to the area’s history in the name.

“Landsdale Gardens Primary School will offer modern learning environments to local students, their families and school staff, and I can’t wait to see the first enrolled students enjoying its facilities and grounds when it opens next year.”
