After being postponed due to poor weather, the Northern Fringe Festival 2021 is now holding its first information night.
The Northern Fringe Festival is getting ready for registrations from performers, artists, creatives and venue owners from across North Queensland.
The festival will be back for its second instalment next year, after being called off this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first Northern Fringe Festival Information Night will be held on Tuesday 10 November to run through information and answer questions about the 2021 instalment.
Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the Information Night was a great opportunity for creatives to learn more about how they could get involved with the Northern Fringe Festival.
“We’re looking forward to building on the success of the first Northern Fringe Festival, which was a real hit,” Cr Greaney said.
“The Northern Fringe Festival Information Night will help provide performers, artists and venue owners with the information that they need to get involved in next year’s event.
“It’s important that everyone who attends sticks to COVID-safe practices, as it’s essential that we continue to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“As we work towards Northern Fringe Festival 2021, we will be focusing on making this a COVID-safe event, so that our community and visitors can attend safely.”
Cr Greaney said it was simple to sign up for the Information Night.
“All you have to do is register online through the Fringe website,” she said.
“Then just make sure you’re at Mayoral Reception Room at 103 Walker St for a 7pm start, where you’ll learn more about being involved in the Northern Fringe Festival.”
