NEW PANEL MEMBERS SOUGHT TO HELP SHAPE REHABILITATION CARE IN DUBBO

Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) is calling for Expressions of Interest from members of the Dubbo community, particularly those who have lived experience of rehabilitation care, to help shape the future Regional Centre for Excellence for Contemporary Rehabilitation Care.

The Dubbo Hospital’s Lourdes Transition Project will utilise the Lourdes Hospital site to provide care for people recovering from injuries or illness. Community members, particularly those with lived experience of rehabilitation care, are being sought to help provide input to create this Regional Centre for Excellence.

WNSWLHD are seeking community members with lived experience for support across two groups:

  • The Executive Steering Committee will provide overall direction and leadership to monitor development of the project, and to ensure project objectives are being met;
  • The Model of Care Working Party will look at what services should be available, and how they are delivered to best practice standards.

WNSWLHD, Project Change Manager, Kerrie O’Neill said these two important groups will help to shape and form the future of rehabilitation services provided at Lourdes hospital site.

“We want to involve people who have lived experience of using Lourdes Services either as a patient, or a carer of someone who has used the services,” Ms O’Neill said.

“Consumers play a vital role in providing their perspective and service user experience which will help inform decisions and ensure consumer perspectives are put front and centre.”
