A world of new imagination is opening up in Dromana as the George A. Bishop Reserve, receives an upgrade.

The revitalised Reserve includes a new playground with basket swings, shark rockers, turnover bars and spinners to keep your little kids (and big kids) entertained for hours.

We successfully received an $80,000 grant from the State Governments Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and we have funded a further $80,000 for the design and delivery of the project to revitalise the George A. Bishop Reserve.

Located at Point Nepean Road at the Dromana foreshore, the upgraded playground design is in keeping with the character of the existing surrounding. Playground features include:

  • Playground equipment for all abilities with wheelchair access.
  • Landscaping to help cool the playground with shade trees.
  • Native plants for extra greenery.
  • Organic soft fall surfacing to help protect against bumps and bruises.
  • Access to and from the playground with new paths.

The playground and recreation Reserve is safe and accessible for everyone and includes new play equipment complying with current Australian Standards.

The playground is due to open on Friday 4 February for everyone to enjoy.
