Grassy Head will be a getting a brand new playground with the existing play area inadequate for the needs of the community and visitors to the beautiful beach and Holiday Park.
The existing play equipment, consisting of a decades old metal frame swing set, needed to be replaced.
The Parks and Gardens team have been exploring options for both the infrastructure and the playground site itself, which has exposed roots and heavily sloped ground.
A new site has been chosen, near the existing playground and close to the BBQ area, which is level and does not require any trees to be moved.
New trees will be planted on the site to help with shade and amenity, and a new BBQ will also be installed.
Work is scheduled to begin in March 2024, and is expected to take around 4-6 weeks to complete.
