  • Construction of the $24.36 million project progressing well
  • Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today announced Dayton Primary School as the official name for the newest primary school in Perth’s north-east.

The local community was consulted on the name for the brand new school, and Dayton Primary School was the most popular choice.

The name reflects the suburb that it has been built in and its connection with the local community.

The school is set to open its doors to students for the first time at the start of the 2023 school year, with construction of the $24.36 million project progressing well.

Local students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, will benefit from the school’s state-of-the-art facilities and indoor and outdoor learning spaces, which have been designed to inspire creativity and encourage student collaboration.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“Dayton is a growing suburb and popular with young families, so I’m pleased to announce the official name of its new school has been selected because of its connection with the local community.

“There’s been an enthusiastic response from the community and school staff as the building progresses.

“Students will benefit from Dayton Primary School’s modern educational and sporting facilities, including outdoor areas where they can learn in the natural environment.”

As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti:

“It’s exciting to see progress on what is another important McGowan Government project in this fast-growing local area.

“The newly named Dayton Primary School is well and truly taking shape, and I know many local families are looking forward to their children learning in the modern new facilities from next year.”
