New round of WA onshore exploration areas a win for new gas supply

APPEA is now trading as Australian Energy Producers.

Pursuant to APPEA’s Constitution, Directors are generally required to retire every three years on a rotational basis (although this can be impacted by early retirements and the transitional provisions) and may stand for re-election at that time. In addition, Directors must also retire and may stand for re-election if they were appointed to fill a casual vacancy during the year.

This year, eight (8) vacancies have arisen from the maximum 16-member Board. These vacancies will be filled by nomination and by election if required, with the results to be announced at the APPEA Annual General Meeting on 16 November 2023.

Retiring Directors are:

  1. Mark Hatfield, Chevron Australia (retiring due to being appointed to fill casual vacancy – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(A))
  2. Jane Norman, Cooper Energy (retiring due to being appointed to fill casual vacancy – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(A))
  3. William Townsend, INPEX Australia (retiring due to being appointed to fill casual vacancy – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(A))
  4. Cecile Wake, Shell Australia (retiring due to being appointed to fill casual vacancy – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(A))
  5. Bruce Clement, Beach Energy (retiring due to being appointed to fill casual vacancy – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(A))
  6. Kevin Gallagher, Santos (retiring due to rotation – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(B)) last elected 2021, first elected 2019
  7. Meg O’Neill, Woodside Energy (retiring due to rotation – Cl 10.5(b)(ii)(B)) last elected 2021, first elected 2019

To be filled at the 2023 AGM in addition to the retiring Directors:

  1. Vacancy not filled during the year

Nominations are therefore called to fill the eight (8) vacancies on the APPEA Board. If the number of nominations is more than the number of vacancies to be filled, an election by ballot of all Full Members must take place.

Any Full Member may nominate a candidate for election. The nomination of any person for election to the Board must be in writing and signed by a Full Member and the candidate.

Nominations must be received by the Company Secretary by 5pm AEDT on 4 October 2023, either by email [email protected] , or by mail to GPO Box 2201 Canberra ACT 2601.

The role of the APPEA Board is to operate at the highest level of policy and to set and steer the overall strategic direction of the Association. Nominees are therefore expected to hold the most senior position within the nominating company and at least be the equivalent of the CEO of the oil and gas exploration and production business in cases where the company concerned has multiple businesses.
