New – Safe Movement Guideline for Light Agricultural Vehicles, Light Agricultural Combinations and Drawn Plant

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has published the Safe Movement Guideline for Light Agricultural Vehicles, Light Agricultural Combinations and Drawn Plant (Safe Movement Guideline), to assist industry in ensuring the continued safe movement of these types of vehicles on Queensland roads.

Safe Movement Guideline

This Safe Movement Guideline applies to light agricultural vehicle with a GVM up to 4.5 tonnes, or a light agricultural combination or drawn plant where each component of the combination does not exceed 4.5 tonne GVM.

The Safe Movement Guideline Version 1.0 was published on 30 November 2023 and replaces the:

  • Safe Movement Guideline | Over-dimension Light Agricultural Vehicles and Agricultural Combinations in Queensland, September 2021.
  • Safe Movement Guideline | Non-standard light trailers including agricultural implements, trailers and drawn plant, September 2021.
  • Safe Movement Guideline | Over-dimension light trailers carrying harvester combs in Queensland, September 2021.
  • Agricultural sections in the Queensland Access Conditions Guide (v 5.1).

Minor amendments to TMR and Local Government conditions have been implemented. TMR recommends that operators review the conditions under this Safe Movement Guideline, to ensure the current application when assessing the suitability of proposed routes and journeys.

Advice

  • The Safe Movement Guideline supersedes agricultural conditions in the Queensland Access Conditions Guide, (v 5.1).

A revised Queensland Access Condition Guide (ACG) is awaiting publication. There are no agricultural specific conditions in the revised ACG.
