The Queensland Government is helping graziers improve their land’s sustainability and productivity while protecting the reef, through the MyFORAGE interactive online land management tool.
MyFORAGE is an extension of the already successful FORAGE system, which provides a cutting-edge platform empowering landholders, consultants, and other stakeholders to make more informed decisions on sustainable land management practices and environmental protection.
The interactive interface of MyFORAGE allows users to adjust and modify input information which enables the delivery of better pasture growth, ground cover and long-term carrying capacity estimations at both property and paddock-scales.
It enables the user to draw paddock boundaries for property management planning, and to customise their property and paddocks for aspects including land types, water points, pasture type and land condition, making it even more valuable for decision-making.
FORAGE, which has been providing easy-to-understand PDF property scale reports for the past 12 years, has already delivered over 230,000 free reports for various stakeholders. These reports provide information on ground cover, pasture growth, and a range of other topics.
