Construction of the new $67.6 million Laverton Hospital is now complete, ensuring more Western Australians, regardless of where they live, can access the health care they need.

The new Laverton Hospital provides a modern, telehealth-equipped emergency department, flexible care beds, specialist facilities for visiting clinicians as well as outpatient services for community health, mental health, and space for an onsite private GP clinic.

Construction works were completed by Western Australian builder ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd.

WA Country Health Service is working to have the hospital operational for Laverton and surrounding residents this month.

The new Laverton Hospital forms part of the Cook Labor Government’s record $5.5 billion health infrastructure program and was supported by a $16.8 million contribution from the Federal Government’s Community Health and Hospitals Program.

As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

“Every Western Australian deserves access to quality healthcare, no matter where they live, and the completion of the new Laverton Hospital is another example of our government delivering on that commitment.

“This investment ensures Laverton and surrounding communities in the Goldfields will have access to modern health facilities closer to home, reducing the need for patients and families to travel long distances.

“Importantly, this project has also supported local jobs and economic activity during construction, with Western Australian builder ADCO Constructions delivering this major piece of regional infrastructure.

“The completion of Laverton Hospital adds to our record $5.5 billion health infrastructure program, which is delivering the hospitals, health services and healthcare jobs needed to support communities right across our State.”

As stated by Health Minister and Acting Health Infrastructure Minister Meredith Hammat:

“The people of Laverton and surrounds will soon have access to the absolute latest in healthcare facilities and technology, including the delivery of community and child health services.

“This modern, dynamic facility will provide a full complement of services including an emergency department equipped with the latest in virtual care technology, outpatient and ambulatory care, overnight flexible care beds, community, mental, allied and child health services as well as space for a GP clinic and visiting specialists.

“We’re putting the healthcare needs of Eastern Goldfields communities front and centre, ensuring they have access to the very best care on Country, and closer to home.”

As stated by Goldfields-Esperance Minister David Michael:

“This project is a demonstration of the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to ensuring all Western Australians can access the healthcare they need, when they need it.

“I look forward to the people of Laverton and surrounding areas being able to access a world-class hospital facility if and when they need it.”

As stated by Kalgoorlie MLA Ali Kent:

“It’s fantastic to see construction now complete on this this eagerly awaited project.

“The Cook Labor Government’s record $5.5 billion investment is making a major difference to the provision of regional healthcare, including right here in the Goldfields.”
