The search is on to find Western Australia’s best public school teachers, principals, support staff and schools, with nominations open today for the WA Education Awards 2021.
Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery said that this year’s new categories – the WA Primary Deputy Principal of the Year and WA Secondary Deputy Principal of the Year – would recognise the unique and important role of deputy principals.
The Minister said the addition of these categories recognised the important and unique contribution of deputy principals in ensuring the learning needs of all students are met.
The awards acknowledge the role educators play in shaping the lives of children in public schools in WA every day, while recognising their hard work, talent and dedication.
The WA Education Awards 2021 winners will be announced at a presentation breakfast in Perth later in the year, and there is a total of $402,500 in prizes for winners and State finalists across 13 categories.
For the first time, all nominations go in the draw to win a premium top-of-the-range 75-inch interactive screen to the value of $8,000, fully installed at a school, thanks to K2 Audiovisual.
The awards are sponsored by BHP, Edith Cowan University, Teachers Mutual Bank, Teachers Health, oOh!media, Fotoworks, Beilby Downing Teal, Perth Energy, K2 Audiovisual and Kurongkurl Katitjin at Edith Cowan University.
