Nominate local legend for Australia Day Awards

Residents are being encouraged to nominate family members, friends and neighbours for Campbelltown’s 2023 Australia Day Awards.

The Australia Day Awards recognise people who have contributed to the community or excelled academically or in the sporting arena.

“The Australia Day Awards represent the most important civic honours that can be given to local residents by our Council,” Mayor George Greiss said.

“They recognise excellence, but also the everyday actions of people who have contributed to making the lives of others better,” Cr Greiss said.

“I encourage everyone to consider nominating people they know who spend hours volunteering or whose work makes a positive difference in our community,” he said.

Award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year
  • Community Group Initiative of the Year
  • Diversity and Inclusion Award
  • Environmental Citizen of the Year

Nominations close on Wednesday 21 December.

Campbelltown’s Australia Day Awards are assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
