Nominate your 2022 ACT Multicultural Champions

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Tara Cheyne is calling for the community to put forward nominations for the 2022 ACT Multicultural Awards.

These Awards recognise and celebrate the significant achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations across the ACT and Canberra region who have helped to create a thriving, welcoming and inclusive multicultural community.

There are four Award categories open for nominations:

  1. Multicultural Individual Champion – acknowledging outstanding efforts that have contributed to making Canberra a more welcoming community.
  2. Community Organisation (Multicultural Champion) – for social enterprises, businesses, public sector and educational services that have benefited the ACT multicultural community and contributed to strengthening social cohesion and participation.
  3. Outstanding Excellence Award for Diversity and Inclusion – recognising an individual or organisation in the community sector for their dedication to enhancing cultural diversity and promoting inclusion.
  4. Multicultural Arts, Media or Culture Award – for contribution to promoting multiculturalism in the ACT community through art, media or cultural activities.

“There are many in our community who are putting the needs, interests and welfare of our diverse community at the heart of their initiatives, activities and services who deserve to be nominated,” said Minister Cheyne.

“The Awards are not only an opportunity to recognise our multicultural champions but serve to promote and celebrate cultural diversity in the ACT.”
