Nominations are now open for the 2019 Foster and Kinship Carer Excellence Awards. The Awards shine a spotlight on individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the Northern Territorys foster and kinship carer community.
Territory Families CEO Ken Davies said the annual awards will be held during the week of Saturday 21 Sunday 29 September with events in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Nhulunbuy.
These awards recognise the dedication, commitment, and achievements of our valuable carers and the community of people who support children in out-of-home care, he said.
This includes the children thriving in the care of a loving family, the siblings who go the extra mile to make them feel welcome in their home, and the support staff who believe that going above and beyond is a part of their job.
If you know someone who is doing an outstanding job caring for children in care, I encourage you to nominate them so that they can receive the recognition that they deserve.
These Awards are open to foster and kinship carers registered with Territory Families, children in care and their siblings, case managers and others who work tirelessly to care for and support young Territorians so that they can have positive pathways in life.
The Award categories are:
Outstanding Contribution by a Foster Carer
Outstanding Contribution by a Kinship Carer
Outstanding Contribution by a Sibling
Young Person Achievement Award
Outstanding Commitment by a Territory Families Staff Member
Nominations are open now and close 6 August 2019.
