Northern suburbs firearms incidents, South Australia

Police are investigating after shots were allegedly fired during two incidents in the Northern suburbs this evening.

About 5.30pm Friday 21 January police received reports of an altercation between the occupants silver BMW and dark sedan travelling north on Main North Road, Elizabeth Park.

Witnesses reported seeing shots fired from both vehicles as they chased each other along Main North Road, causing the glass to smash on the rear window of one of the cars.

The BMW was last seen turning onto Womma Road, the dark sedan continued north towards Gawler.

Around the same time police were called to a house on Wallace Road at Elizabeth Vale after nearby residents reported hearing what sounded like gunshots.

Northern District police located spent ammunition rounds near the property and STAR Group officers were called in to search the address.

Police believe the incidents are linked and are not random. There have been no reported injuries.
