Not long before bin collections change

From 1 July, your bin collections are changing. We will start collecting your green-lidded food and garden bin, with most of the stinky stuff, weekly. Your yellow-lidded household rubbish bin will be collected fortnightly. There will be no change to your collection day.

There will be no change to your blue-lidded recycling bin collection or bundled green waste collection cycle. They will remain fortnightly. The bundled green waste collection will go out together with the new fortnightly cycle for your yellow-lidded household rubbish bin.

Please remember to put your bins out by 6am on your bin day.

Search your address to find out your bin collection dates at knox.vic.gov.au/BinDay Or check the rubbish and recycling calendar we sent in the information pack with your new kitchen caddy.

Note: the new collection dates wil be available online from 3 July.

You can start adding food scraps to your food and garden bin now. No need to wait for the weekly collection starting from July.

We recommend you use your new kitchen caddy and compostable liners to help manage the food scraps from your kitchen to your food and garden bin. Empty the caddy regularly every 2-3 days to keep odours down. The liners provided should last each household approximately 12 months. We will make another roll of compostable liners available free of charge from March next year.
