NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) has teamed up with north west Sydney clothing manufacturer Valour, to launch a new partnership that will dress NSWIS athletes for success in the lead up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Minister for Sport Alister Henskens said off the back of a successful Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where NSWIS athletes won 25 medals and set seven Games records, the new partnership with Valour sets a new benchmark for professional athlete apparel.
“Our best athletes need the best gear to perform at their peak and Valour’s cutting-edge clothing will ensure our NSWIS athletes are ready to compete against the world’s best,” Mr Henskens said.
“NSWIS provides world leading coaching, performance support and daily training environments to support athletes to achieve podium performances and the focus right now is on Paris 2024 and Brisbane 2032.”
NSWIS CEO Kevin Thompson said the strong focus that Valour place on research and high performance product development will enable NSWIS athletes to go further, push harder and recover quicker.
“Each garment has been developed and put the test by a selection of world class NSWIS athletes and coaches to ensure they reach peak levels every time,” Mr Thompson said.
Valour Director Ryan Tesoriero said by partnering with Australia’s premier high performance sporting organisation NSWIS, Valour is able to further innovate with elite athletes, coaches and staff.
“Our expert team is pioneering technical apparel with premium quality garments that give athletes an edge,” Mr Tesoriero said.
