NSW experiences series of cold fronts

Across the state we have experienced a series of cold fronts which have moved from the southwest, bringing damaging winds from the mid north coast to southern and eastern areas of NSW including the Metropolitan and Illawarra.

NSW State Emergency Service have received 505 jobs, most of these being in Sydney, the majority of these jobs relate to trees down and roof damage.

Another cold front is due to cross NSW on Wednesday, with winds again strengthening either late this evening or tomorrow morning.

NSW SES asks people to follow information regarding the weather and warnings by visiting the Bureau of Meteorology

What you can do to prepare:

  • Take the time this afternoon to move your car undercover and away from trees.
  • Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
  • Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen powerlines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.

If you are commuting home, plan your trip with the Live Traffic website.
