COVID mask for lockdown

Kempsey residents urged to do the right thing and stay at home

The NSW Premier and Deputy Premier have issued a second stay at home order for Kempsey for 7 days effective from 5pm Tuesday 21 September 2021.

Under the public health order, anyone currently residing in Kempsey will only be able to leave home if they have a reasonable excuse.

These essential reasons include:
– shopping for food,
– medical care,
– getting vaccinated or take a COVID-19 test,
– compassionate needs,
– exercise and

– work or tertiary education if you can’t work or study at home.

These stay-at-home orders also apply to anyone who has been in the Kempsey Local Government Area since Tuesday 14 September.

It remains vital that people monitor for the onset of COVID-19 symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
