NSW police appeal after attempted ram raid and ATM theft near Albury

Police are appealing to the community for information after the attempted theft of ATM near Albury in the early hours of yesterday morning.

About 2.30am (Saturday 29 February 2020), police were contacted after local residents reported suspicious activity at a service station on Urana Road, Jindera.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended and found the doors to the shop jemmied open and damage to the ATM inside.

Initial inquiries revealed a white Mitsubishi van had reversed up to the doors and unsuccessfully attempted to take the ATM from inside.

The van, which had been stolen from Wodonga, was later located dumped on a property on Clynross Court.

A crime scene was established at both locations and examined by specialist forensic officers. Various exhibits have been seized for further forensic analysis.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
