NSW police appeal after child approach near Blue Mountains

Police are appealing for information after a child approach in the Blue Mountains area yesterday.

About 3pm (Saturday 20 July 2019), a 12-year-old boy was riding his bike on a footpath of Hawkesbury Road, Winmalee, when a vehicle stopped in the road, and its driver – an unknown man – asked the boy if he wanted a ride.

The boy declined and rode away, and the vehicle left the scene.

Officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified who attended, and their inquiries to locate the vehicle and its driver continue.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen a late-model red sedan – possibly a Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore – to contact Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
