NSW police appeal for information after aggravated break-in and pursuit at Tamworth

Investigators are appealing for public assistance after a home was allegedly broken into and a vehicle was stolen and used in a pursuit in Tamworth overnight.

Police have been told between 10pm yesterday (Thursday 24 November 2021) and 2.15am today (Thursday 25 November 2021), unknown persons gained entry into a home on Brisbane Street, Tamworth.

The house was ransacked whilst the occupants were asleep, before cash and a black Holden Calais were stolen.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

About 3am today, police attempted to stop a Holden Calais in Tamworth, before a pursuit was initiated when it failed to do so. The pursuit was terminated a short time later.

Following inquiries, the vehicle was located abandoned in a vacant paddock on Green Street, Tamworth. It was seized and will undergo examination.
