NSW police appeal for information after child approach at Wagga Wagga

Police have appealed for information after a young girl was approached by a man near Wagga Wagga yesterday afternoon.

About 3.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 4 June 2019), a 12-year-old girl alighted from a bus at Tatton, about six kilometres south of Wagga Wagga.

As the girl walked south on Tamar Drive she reached the intersection with Kimberley Drive.

A man driving a white utility stopped next to the girl and attempted to have a conversation with her.

The girl spoke briefly to the man and walked away, telling her mother about the incident when she arrived home.

Officers from Wagga Wagga Police Station were alerted and attended shortly after.

Police have appealed to the public to assist them with identifying the man who is described as being about 70-years-old with short white hair, a long white beard and bushy eyebrows.

The man wore a baseball cap with a red emblem and drove a white utility.
