NSW police appeal for information after sexual assault

Police have released CCTV vision and stills and are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a sexual assault that occurred in Sydney’s inner west in January this year.

About 10.30pm on Saturday 19 January 2019, a 25-year-old woman met a man, about 30 years of age, at a hotel in Woollahra.

Shortly after, the woman and man travelled together to a hotel in Paddington before they both left in a taxi to her home in Erskineville.

During the night, the woman alleges that she was sexually assaulted by the man.

On Sunday 20 January 2019, the woman presented to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and reported the incident.

Detectives from Inner West Police Area Command attended and spoke with the woman and commenced an investigation.

Police believe that the man in the CCTV vision and stills may be able to help with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with an average build, about 175cm tall and was wearing beige shorts, a dark blue, long-sleeved collared shirt and sneakers.

Police are urging anyone with information that may be able to assist to contact Newtown Police Station on
