NSW police appeal to identify wanted man in Sydney’s CBD

Detectives are appealing for assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with inquiries into an alleged assault in Sydney’s west.

About 2.30am on Monday 2 January 2023, a 46-year-old man was confronted and allegedly assaulted by an unknown man while waiting at Liverpool Railway Bus Interchange.

Police were alerted and officers attached to Police Transport and Public Safety Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he received treatment for injuries to his head and body. He has since been released.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their investigation.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, approximately 30-40 years old, about 175cm tall, of medium build with short black hair.

At the time, he was wearing a black-hooded jumper with red accents and a motif on the left chest area, with black pants, black Nike TN running shoes and carrying a fluorescent orange jumper.
