NSW police arrest man after crashing into power pole and returning positive breath test at Seaforth

A man has been arrested after crashing into a power pole and supplying a positive breath test in Sydney’s northern beaches last night.

Emergency services were called to Boronia Lane, Seaforth about 9.45pm (Friday 20 September 2019), after reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and located a Mazda which had crashed into a power pole, causing significant damage to the vehicle, and snapping the pole in half.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda – a 30-year-old man – was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital under police guard to be treated for minor injuries and to undergo mandatory testing, and has been released pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
