NSW police arrest man after police pursuit in Parramatta

Police are appealing for public assistance following a police pursuit in Sydney’s west.

About 10am today (Saturday 4 December 2021), police were patrolling the intersection of Grose Street and O’Connell Street, Parramatta, when they saw a stolen white Mercedes.

When the driver ignored a direction to stop by officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command, a pursuit was initiated.

Police lost sight of the vehicle and a short time later police will allege the stolen vehicle turned down a one-way street in the wrong direction and collided with two vehicles.

The occupants of the stolen vehicle ran from the scene, while six people – travelling in the other vehicles – were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

A 34-year-old man was arrested a short distance away and has been taken to Westmead Hospital for observation. He remains in hospital under police guard.

Police are appealing for any dashcam footage or witnesses to the incident to come forward as they search for the other occupants.

Investigations are continuing.
