NSW police arrest two men after stabbing at Fairfield

Two men have been arrested, after another man was stabbed in Fairfield overnight.

About 8.20pm (Friday 12 July 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of The Crescent and Court Road, Fairfield, following reports three males fighting.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and located a 29-year-old man from Fairfield West with stab wounds to his chest and stomach.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard. He remains in a stable condition and will require surgery.

Two men, aged 38 and 60, were arrested at the scene.

The 38-year-old Bankstown man was assessed by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard.

The 60-year-old Fairfield West man has since been released pending further inquiries.

A crime scene was established, and the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
