NSW police arrest woman after stabbing

A woman has been arrested following an alleged stabbing at Potts Point today.

Emergency services were called to Darlinghurst Road just after 1.30pm (Monday 4 May 2020), following reports a man had been stabbed.

A 19-year-old man was found with a stab wound to the neck. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have been told the man was stabbed by a woman who left the scene on foot.

Several crime scenes have been established which will be examined by specialist forensic police.

Following inquiries by officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command, a 42-year-old woman was arrested on the corner of Macleay and Orwell streets, Potts Point, about 2.20pm.

She has been taken to Kings Cross Police Station where she is assisting with inquiries.

It’s not yet known if the pair are known to each other.
