NSW police charge driver after six-year-old girl critically injured in crash near Lithgow

A woman has been charged following an investigation into a serious single-vehicle crash that critically injured a six-year-old girl near Lithgow earlier this year.

Emergency services attended a crash on Sunny Corner Road at Portland, just after 3.30pm on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

A woman, then aged 32, and three girls, two aged four and the other six, were in the car at the time.

The six-year-old girl was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she continues to get treatment.

The woman and the two four-year-old girls were taken to Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead respectively.

Following an investigation, officers from the Crash Investigation Unit served a Future Court Attendance Notice on a 33-year-old woman for the offence of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm yesterday (Tuesday 25 June 2019).

She is due to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday 8 August 2019.
