A man will face court next month charged following an investigation into an alleged fail-to-stop crash in the state’s North West.
Shortly after 9pm on Sunday 20 February 2022, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway, about 45km south of Bourke, following reports of a fail-to-stop collision between two Landcruisers.
Officers attached to Central North Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
The driver – a 30-year-old woman – and two children were treated on scene by NSW Ambulance. A male passenger sustained no injuries.
Following inquiries, about 9.20am on Friday (25 February 2022), officers executed a search warrant at a home in Byrock, about 78km south of Bourke.
Officers seized clothing and a Landcruiser from bushland.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bourke Police Station.
He was charged with three counts of drive vehicle under influence of alcohol, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, not give particulars to other driver, and use/allow use of high-beam on oncoming vehicle.
The man was given conditional bail to appear at Bourke Local Court on Monday 21 March 2022.
