NSW police charge four with drink-driving across Western Region

Police are disappointed after several people were charged with drink-driving offences throughout the Western Region in the past 48 hours.

Of note, a 37-year-old man was charged with high-range PCA after officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District stopped a vehicle on Lansdowne Drive, Dubbo, about 3.20am on Monday (14 July 2020).

The man was taken to Dubbo Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.196. He was given a future court attendance notice for high-range PCA and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 23 September 2020. His licence was also suspended.

Western Region Traffic Tactician, Acting Insp Kelly Wixx, said it is extremely disappointing that drivers are drinking and getting behind the wheel.

“We are disappointed to see drivers making poor choices that put everyone on the road at risk,” A/Insp Wixx said.

“Our message is simple – don’t drink and drive, we are out in force and will continue to target drink driving offences throughout the Region and you will be caught.”
