NSW police charge four with drug supply at Wollongong

Three men and a woman have been charged as part of an investigation into the alleged ongoing supply of prohibited drugs in the Illawarra.

Strike Force Cohen was established by detectives from Wollongong Police District to investigate the supply of Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) and methylamphetamine (‘ice’) in the region.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Rowland Avenue, West Wollongong about 8am yesterday (Thursday 6 August 2020).

Three men – aged 30, 37 and 55, and a 44-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

During a search of the property, police allegedly seized several items including ‘ice’, cannabis, and prohibited snakes.

The 30-year-old man was charged with 13 counts of supply prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.

The 37-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), eight counts of supply prohibited drug, take part supply prohibited drug and supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.

The 44-year-old woman was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), four counts of supply prohibited drug and supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.

All three were refused bail and are due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 7 August 2020).

The 55-year-old man was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and organise/conducts/assists drug premises.

He was refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court yesterday (Thursday 6 August 2020), where he was granted conditional bail to re-appear on Wednesday 30 September 2020.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected to be made.
