NSW police charge four with High-Range PCA across Western Region

Police are left disappointed after four people were charged with high-range PCA after being caught driving throughout the Western Region over the weekend.

Of note, a 27-year-old man was charged with high-range PCA after officers attached to Central West Police District stopped a white Toyota Camry on Nyampaa Street, Murrin Bridge, about 7.10am on Sunday (26 July 2020).

The man was taken to Lake Cargelligo Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.227. He was given a court attendance notice for high-range PCA and is due to appear at Lake Cargelligo Local Court on Wednesday 5 August 2020. His licence was also suspended.

Western Region Traffic Tactician, Acting Inspector Kelly Wixx, said it is extremely disappointing that drivers continue to consume alcohol before deciding to still get behind the wheel.

“Thoughtless driver behaviour needs to stop. Any driver who chooses to drink and drive puts every other road user at risk,” A/Insp Wixx said.

“Whilst we are amid the COVID 19 pandemic, police will continue to be out in force targeting drink driving offences in the Western Region,” A/Insp Wixx said.

“If you drink and drive, expect to be caught and have your licence suspended immediately.”
