NSW police charge man after 2kg of cocaine seized at Gosford

A Queensland man has been charged after police seized more than two kilograms of cocaine which was allegedly found concealed in a truck cabin on the state’s Central Coast.

About 9.30pm on Thursday (30 September 2021), officers attached to Gosford Traffic & Highway Patrol spoke with the driver of a prime mover after it stopped at a weighbridge, northbound on the Pacific Highway at Mount White.

The man, aged 54, was subjected to a roadside drug test that allegedly returned a positive result.

In a subsequent search of the truck, police located an amount of methamphetamine concealed under the driver’s seat, before detecting a further 2kg of cocaine concealed under a mattress.

All items seized will undergo further forensic examination.

The man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and appeared at Gosford Local Court today (Friday 1 October 2021), where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Tuesday 19 November 2021.
