NSW police charge man after assaulting woman with kettle

A man will face court today charged after allegedly threatening a woman with a kettle in the state’s south.

Police were called to a home in Howlong, north of Albury about 12pm yesterday (Wednesday 30 April 2020), following reports of a domestic dispute.

Police will allege a man held a kettle to the forehead of the woman and made threats to pour water over her.

Officers from Murray River Police District attended and commenced inquiries. The man was allegedly located hiding inside the engine bay of an old vehicle in the shed and arrested.

The 39-year-old man was taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with breach of bail, intimidation, common assault, acquire firearm part – subject to prohibition order, acquire ammunition – subject to prohibition order and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of their duty.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Albury Local Court today (Thursday 30 April 2020).
