NSW police charge man after attempted armed robbery at Orange

A man will face court following an alleged attempted armed robbery in the state’s Central West.

About 12.15pm Saturday (14 March 2020), a man, allegedly armed with a knife, entered a shop on Moulder Street, Orange, and spoke with the staff member.

Officers from Central West Police District allege the man threatened the employee with the knife demanding cigarettes.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested an 18-year-old man and took him to Orange Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

The man appeared in Orange Local Court yesterday (Sunday 15 March 2020), and was refused bail to re-appear in the same court on Monday (11 May 2020).

A knife has been seized for forensic examination.
