NSW police charge man after investigation into fatal crash at Forbes

A man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash in the state’s Central West region in May 2019.

About 2.20pm on Wednesday 8 May 2019, emergency services responded to reports of a single vehicle accident on Bedgerabong Road at Forbes.

On arrival, officers attached to Central West Police District found a black Holden utility had left the roadway and crashed heavily into a tree.

The driver, a man aged 25, was taken to Orange Base Hospital before being transferred to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The passenger, a man aged 20, died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the cause of the crash commenced.

About 2.30pm yesterday (Monday 21 October 2019), the 25-year-old man attended Forbes Police Station where he was arrested in relation to the crash.

He was charged with dangerous driving occasion death, negligent driving occasioning death, and not give particulars to police. The man was also issued a licence suspension notice.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Forbes Local Court on Thursday 5 December 2019.
