NSW police charge man after investigations into stabbing

A man will face court today charged over the malicious wounding of his neighbour in Chester Hill earlier this week.

Just after 11.15am (Tuesday 26 November 2019), officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended Hector Street following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police were told that two men were involved in an altercation within a unit of the complex.

A 32-year-old man was found inside a unit suffering stab wounds to his back, chest and arms. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

A 42-year-old man was found in a nearby unit with a severed ear lobe and a cut to his arm. He was taken to Auburn Hospital – under police guard – where he was treated.

He was released from hospital and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 28 November 2019).
