NSW police charge man after music equipment worth almost $12,000 stolen

A man has been charged over the alleged theft of almost $12,000 worth of music instruments and equipment in the state’s south last week.

Officers from Murray River Police District commenced investigations after receiving reports a number of guitars and music equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked on Prune Street, Lavington, between Wednesday (22 June 2022) and Thursday (23 June 2022).

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Kiama Street, Springdale Heights, about 12.15pm yesterday (Sunday 3 July 2022).

During a search of the home, police allegedly located several items suspected of being stolen, including two guitars and music equipment. Those items have been seized for forensic examination.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Albury Police Station.

He was charged with nine offences, including eight counts of goods suspected stolen in/on premises, and one count of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Albury Local Court on Monday 4 July 2022.

He was given conditional bail to reappear before Albury Local Court on Tuesday 30 August 2022.
