NSW police charge man after search warrant in Sydney CBD

A man has been charged with drug and weapons offences after a search warrant in the Sydney CBD.

In early August 2019, police attached to Sydney City Proactive Crime Team commenced investigations into the supply of prohibited drugs within the Sydney CBD area.

As a result of inquiries, about 12.55pm yesterday (Thursday 22 August 2019), investigators executed a search warrant at a unit on Sussex Street, Sydney.

Inside the home, officers allegedly located 929 grams of cannabis leaf, as well as a small amount of cocaine, 326 cannabis seeds, 1.3 grams of amphetamine, ten tabs of LSD, a black coloured BB pistol, 2 x miniature cross bows, hydrated gel blaster ammunition, ball bearings, and plastic BB pellets.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to Day Street Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug between small and indictable quantity, possess prohibited drug (x6), possess unauthorised pistol, possess or use a prohibited weapon permit (x2), deal with property proceeds of crime below $100,000.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Friday 23 August 2019).
