NSW police charge man after service station attendant threatened with knife at Dubbo

A man will face court after he allegedly threatened a shop attendant with a knife at a service station in Dubbo last week.

About 10pm on Tuesday 12 October 2021, the attendant – a 32-year-old man – was leaving a service station on Windsor Road, Dubbo, when he was approached by a man, armed with a knife.

The staff member threw a drink at the armed man, before he fled on foot through a car park towards Wheelers Lane.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, officers stopped and spoke to a man riding a grey Trek mountain bike on Macquarie Street, Dubbo, about 7.45pm on Saturday (16 October 2021).

The 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station, where he was charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence, possess prohibited drug and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 27 October 2021.
