NSW police charge man after sexual act

A man has been charged over an alleged sexual act and incident of stalking in Sydney’s north west earlier this week.

Just before 4pm on Monday (10 January 2022), a woman was walking along Jewel Street, Quakers Hill – with her one-year-old son in a pram – when she noticed a man walking behind her.

The woman continued walking into a reserve at the intersection of Tangerine Drive and Jasper Street, when she observed the same man follow her into the park and allegedly perform a lewd act, before running away.

The incident was reported to police, with officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command commencing an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Mallee Street, Quakers Hill, about 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 January 2022).

A 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), carry out sexual act with another without consent, and intentionally carry out sexual act with child (under 10).

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 19 January 2022.
