NSW police charge man after sexual touching of teen at Cooma

A man will face court today charged after allegedly sexually touching a teenage girl at Cooma yesterday.

Two girls, aged 13 and 14, were at a park on Sharp Street about 5.30pm (Saturday 19 October 2019), when they were approached by a man.

Following a brief conversation, the younger girl was allegedly sexually touched while the man touched himself.

After he walked away, the girls informed a relative who notified police.

Officers from Monaro Police District attended the park and arrested a 49-year-old man.

He was taken to Cooma Police Station and charged with intentionally sexually touch child, and intentionally do sexual act with child.

The West Australian man appeared at Queanbeyan Local Court today (Sunday 20 October 2019) and was refused bail to reappear tomorrow (Monday 21 October 2019).
