NSW police charge man after shooting at Belmore

A man has charged after another man presented at Canterbury Hospital last night suffering facial injuries and a gunshot wound to his leg.

About 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 25 September 2019), officers from Campsie Police Area Command were called to the hospital after the man sought treatment for his injuries.

Initial inquires have led officers to a shop on Belmore Road, Belmore, where a crime scene was established.

About 12.20pm today (Thursday 26 September 2019), a 25-year-old man was arrested at Campsie Police Station assisting with inquiries.

Following inquiries, a 25-year-old Punchbowl man was charged with discharge firearm with intend cause grievous bodily harm and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Friday 27 September 2019).
