NSW police charge man after stabbing brawl at Auburn

A man has been charged after four teenagers were injured during a brawl in Sydney’s west on the weekend.

About 4.50pm on Saturday 27 June 2020, emergency services were called to Auburn Road, following reports of a brawl of up to 20 males.

When officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended, the group had dispersed from the area.

Four teenage boys – two aged 15 and two aged 14 – were found with stab wounds and minor lacerations.

They were all taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with non life-threatening injuries.

Crime scenes were established at various locations on Auburn Road, which were examined by specialist forensic officers.

Following inquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested at Auburn Police Station about 1.40pm today (Wednesday 1 July 2020).

The man was charged with affray, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of reckless wounding in company.

Police will allege in court that the man stabbed three of the injured teenagers during the brawl.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 2 July 2020).
