NSW police charge man after theft at Dubbo

A man has faced court charged with the alleged theft of a vehicle in the state’s Central West.

About 10pm on Sunday (1 March 2020), a white Subaru Impreza was stolen from a business on Douglas Mawson Drive, Dubbo.

Soon after, that vehicle was returned to the location with significant damage, and a white Toyota Hilux was stolen.

About 11.45pm, the stolen Hilux was used to smash through the front doors of a supermarket on Tamworth Street, Dubbo.

Following inquiries, officers attached Orana Mid-Western Police executed a search warrant at a home on Houston Drive and arrested a 19-year-old man.

The man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, larceny and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

He appeared at Dubbo Local Court and was given conditional bail to reappear at the same court Wednesday 11 March 2020.
